AIST
The National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) is a public research institute developing technologies for innovations in Japan and promoting such innovations to industries.
Its history goes back to the Geological Survey of Japan established in 1882. AIST started as Agency for Industrial Science and Technology in 1952 and became National Institute in 2001 with 15 National Institutes integrated. With almost 10.000 employees, half of which are visiting researchers from Industry and academia, AIST brings together core technologies to exert its comprehensive strengths.
The two AIST Research Centers involved in e-VITA are AIRC and HARC.
